Aquaponics has become one of our favorite methods of growing food. The method is a combination of hydroponics (growing plants in water) and aquaculture (fish) and mimics natural systems found in many bodies of water. The fish provide nutrients through their waste to plants once converted by bacteria. By re-creating this natural cycle with a few affordable tools, we've been able to set up a small manageable indoor growing system that provides us with herbs, fruits and veggies throughout the year. Read more about aquaponics here at The Aquaponics Source, one of our favorite sites and resources.
